General Medical Council, GMC is the main governing body who is in charge of registering doctors, making sure that are legit and qualifications are verified and granting partial or full registration to practice. Of course when you reach UK you need to let your Hospital know at your earliest that you have arrived. You don't need to land and reach at the hospital but at your earliest convenience email the hospital personnel that has been communicating with you that you have arrived briefly inform about your schedule if you have previously not discussed, whether you will be going for GMC ID check directly or not. So once you have rested at your accommodation it's finally time to enter the hospital you will be working at.
