What is MTI? How is CPSP involved?

MTI stands for The Medical Training Initiative. It is a national scheme designed to allow a small number of doctors to enter the UK from overseas for a maximum of 24 months, so that they can benefit from training and development in NHS services before returning to their home countries. As written on the Academy of Medical Royal Colleges

So CPSP has gone great lengths to develop this program for those doctors registered with CPSP to be trained in UK and Ireland for maximum of two years before returning back to Pakistan. A process they call “Brain Gain not Brain Drain”. It’s like the conventional MTI program but your financial sponsor will be CPSP who will pay your salaries (tax free), every process will be through CPSP and all your training will be counted in your respective RTMC.

Upon signing the bond with CPSP this program will allow trainees to get full GMC registration with license to practice in the UK. And at the end of the two year agreement a certificate will be given to authenticate your training in UK. Thus an extremely prestigious opportunity is given by CPSP to allow trainees get international exposure, full GMC registration (without PLAB or MRCP) and all of this counting towards your RTMC to allow you to give FCPS II exam.

  3. It depends what speciality are you applying to. medicine is slightly easier than subspecialities . Best thing is to keep your Ielts score in hand and apply for all openings and be confident in interviews
