Who is Eligible for MTI / CPSP Scholarship Program And What are The Requirements?

Basically all trainees of CPSP are eligible if they meet the requirements. Although they may vary slightly depending on where the post is but usually for UK there are divided into two categories Junior Clinical fellow and Senior Clinical fellow. Basic requirements  include:

. Candidates must be in good standing with the College.
. Senior Fellows: FCPS + IELTS
. Junior Fellows: IMM + IELTS
. IELTS: (at least 7.0 in each testing area, and an overall score of 7.5)
Those candidates who do not possess IELTS are suggested not to apply for this program.
. Candidates must provide their experience which must be supported by the log book available with the college. The college may seek additional information.

As evident by the requirements junior clinical fellow is post IMM and Senior Clinical fellow post FCPS II. Although it's mentioned IELTS people who don't have IELTS or planning to can also apply. Though it says otherwise but many candidates didn't have IELTS even at the time of interview. Though now CPSP is changing rules and want IELTS score at the time of application. To know how to score the required IELTS score read (here

You will need your IMM completed or at least the theory done. I had not given my IMM at the time of interview or at the time of selection but my logbook was complete so that's a must. But things have changed now so they need IMM for applying. You need to complete an online application with basic details and submit no fees required. Then wait for a month or two to get a response from your CPSP.

The details of the requirements are mentioned on the CPSP website do regularly check for any new posts or openings.

Do keep following this blog for further details and my experience throughout!

  1. You are doing a wonderful job.
    My question is:
We complete our elogs quite randomly to be honest. Do we need to have special focus on competing elog entries with regards to these scholarship slots ?? And if yes, what points should we keep in mind while doing elog entries ??
    Regards

  2. Well CPSP says that elogbook is important. I believe that's one way of showing what you did during residency. Try logging wide range of cases and procedures. It may give you a slight edge but nothing major.
