Well there was lots of waiting, I had IMM theory during this time which I was somehow able to clear. Given that it was the 1st time they had introduced online IMM exam and additional hematology option in the exam. The result was announced after the IMM theory results. So you need to clear your IMM theory too. An offer letter will be sent along with a request to sign a bond to
work in the specified hospital for 2yrs, not to leave before 2yrs, report back after 2yrs, and not to reapply to UK for the next 12 months. Scary isn't it? So please be very sure whether you want to proceed or not, because you don't want to mess with CPSP. To make sure no one messes with them or the contract they made an example out of one the candidates who tried to go around the contract, by canceling the candidates FCPS part 1, IMM, all the training and to top that GMC registration as well. CPSP has very strong links with GMC too. So if you decide then you stick to it.
We were invited for a briefing via teleconferencing by the CPSP regional head in UK who answered all our queries regarding the post. He made clear to us that each applicant will be assigned a clinical and education supervisor and training will be along the lines of CPSP requirements. Your training will be counted towards your specialty RTMC. The question which remained was the fact that specialty training required by CPSP is atleast 3yrs what will we do after 2yrs to which he replied you need to come back and complete your training here and CPSP will help you find a residency spot. This is a big downside for those applying as a junior clinical fellow in sub specialities. So remember this when you plan to apply, because you aren't allowed to stay more than 2 years on the visa on which you will be going to UK (Tier 5).
Best scenario is for those who have are almost one year into their sub specialities or done with 2yr Medicine and need to complete 2 more. So the question is do you want to play safe continue in Pakistan or get 2yr UK experience and somehow manage to complete the remaining training in Pakistan.
