The College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan has entered into an agreement with the HSE (Health Service Executive) and the Forum of Postgraduate Training Bodies in Ireland to offer a postgraduate scholarship programme to permit Pakistani graduates to complete part of their training in Ireland. Successful candidates will be supported in the ongoing development of their knowledge base and the enhancement of their medical skills and competencies within their chosen specialty. They will have direct exposure to the health system in Ireland and an opportunity to learn about alternative approaches to delivery of healthcare services

Eligibility Criteria (General)
- Have completed a house job of minimum 1 year, comprising atleast 3 months medicine and 3 months surgery minimum
- Have permanent registration with the Pakistan Medical & Dental Council.
- Be eligible for registration with the Irish Medical Council
- IELTS: Minimum 6.5 in each testing area and overall 7 or OET minimum Score B in each testing area
- Cleared Intermediate Module Exam (IMM).
- Completed Log Book for their Clinical Experience record
General Info About The Scholarship Program
- Must return to Pakistan on completion of the 2-year scholarship and not seek further employment in Ireland for a minimum of 12 months after completion of the programme.
- Would complete training in Pakistan, having received CPSP recognition for two years of training in Ireland. Be eligible to take the FCPS-2 examination provided all other conditions (viz. dissertation) have been fulfilled.
- Under the terms of the scholarship, successful candidates will be awarded a bursary which will cover the costs of return travel to Ireland, registration with the Medical Council in Ireland, and accommodation and induction on arrival in the country.
- On commencement in post, candidates will be remunerated and employed under national terms and conditions as applicable to doctors employed in Irish hospital services.
Eligibility Criteria (Specific)
- Emergency Medicine
Have completed 2 years post internship/house job experience in clinical posts that involved exposure to acute surgical and medical admissions and emergency presentations. This experience must have been gained in recognised teaching hospitals accredited by the CPSP.
At time of commencement in Ireland candidates must be enrolled on the CPSP Emergency Medicine programme.
Prior to commencing the programme in Ireland, candidates are required to have spent a minimum of 12 months in one of the following hospitals accredited for Emergency Medicine training by the CPSP:
Shifa International Hospital in Islamabad or Aga Khan University Hospital in Karachi.
- Anaesthesiology
Have passed the Intermediate Module for Anaesthesiology
Meet additional minimum requirements specific to applicants for Training in Anaesthesiology, Pain Medicine and Intensive Care MedicineMinimum requirements:
Pass first part of FCPS examination in Anaesthesiology (not MCPS).
Two years Anaesthesiology training inside the FCPS training programme
Four months continuous exposure (or the equivalent of 4 months in smaller blocks) to Obstetric Anaesthesiology, to include general Anaesthesiology for procedures during pregnancy and caesarian section.
2 months continuous exposure (or the equivalent of 2 months in smaller blocks) to Paediatric Anaesthesiology for children 2 years of age and upwards, with an emphasis on ENT procedures.
- General Internal Medicine
Have passed the Intermediate Module for General Internal Medicine.
Have completed 2 years post-internship/house job experience in clinical posts that involved exposure to acute admissions and emergency presentations in General Internal Medicine.
- Paediatrics
Have passed the Intermediate Module for Paediatrics
Have completed 2 years post-internship/house job experience in clinical posts that involved exposure to acute admissions and emergency presentations in General Paediatrics.
Have a minimum of 12 months experience in an accredited CPSP Hospital in Pakistan for Paediatrics
- Obstetrics/Gynaecology
Have passed the Intermediate Module for Obstetrics/Gynaecology
Have completed 2 years post-internship/house job experience in clinical posts that involved exposure to acute admissions and emergency presentations in Obstetrics/Gynaecology
- Ophthalmology
Have passed the Intermediate Module for Ophthalmology.
Have completed 2 years post internship/house job experience in clinical posts that involved exposure to acute surgical and medical admissions and emergency presentations.
- Psychiatry
Have passed the Part 1 and Intermediate Module for FCPS in Psychiatry.
Have completed 2 years post internship/house job experience in clinical posts that involved exposure to acute admissions and presentations in Psychiatry
Closing Date for Applications
- Applications must be submitted by 28th December 2018.
- Shortlisting will conclude by end of January 2019
- Interviews during early February 2019 (via Skype) in each of the CPSP Regional centres.
- Interview results will be announced at the end of February 2019.

If someone is moving to UK for settlement ,can they apply?I mean if they cannot come back to Pakistan ,and if thy Completed 4 years of fcps training but didn't clear fcps part2?

No you don't have background experience in Emergency. You should apply for medicine. Or Neurology in UK if cpsp advertises it.
